As the first branch of Hainan Airlines in southwest China, on November 23, 2023, Hainan Airlines Chongqing Branch officially announced its landing in Yubei.

It is understood that HNA Chongqing Branch is positioned as the international main base airline of Chongqing Airport, and will increase investment in capacity, manpower and capital to build a "international + domestic" two-way efficient transit flight wave, and help Yubei build an open airport highland.

On the same day, Hainan Airlines also released the flight situation of the new route, planning to open a direct international route from Chongqing to Paris. According to the data, in 2023, Jiangbei International Airport will complete a passenger throughput of 44.657 million person-times, ranking sixth among airports in the country, with a total of 354 domestic and foreign routes, navigating 231 cities around the world, forming a logistics and freight network of 114 domestic destinations and 60 international destinations, fully realizing the normalization of customs clearance 24 hours ×a day, and the ground cargo throughput guarantee capacity of air logistics reaching 1.1 million tons.

In 2024, after the construction of the T3B terminal and the fourth runway, Jiangbei International Airport will form a layout of 4 runways and 4 terminals to meet the needs of 80 million passengers per year, 580,000 aircraft takeoffs and landings, and 1.2 million tons of cargo and mail throughput.

By 2025, Chongqing International Aviation Gateway Hub will once again enter a new level, Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport will achieve a passenger throughput of 63.5 million person-times, a cargo and mail throughput of 600,000 tons, an international (regional) cargo and mail throughput of 40%, a number of international (regional) routes of 115, and more than 185 domestic passenger navigable cities, basically forming a global route network that reaches China and covers Asia, Europe, Oceania and the Americas.

In addition to speeding up the construction of "air corridors", Yubei District also has a rare three-dimensional comprehensive transportation hub in the western region that integrates "air, rail, road, water and rail" multimodal transportation, and the advantages of inland open corridors have been continuously consolidated.
